Cheddar's Murfreesboro Fire

Murfreesboro Fire & Rescue Department officials are investigating a small fire that occurred just after noon Monday, Aug. 13 at the Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen located at 1829 Old Fort Parkway.

Fire & Life Safety Specialist Dwajuan Howse said it appears that the fire started on the roof of the building over the kitchen area.

“The exact cause is unknown at this time,” Howse said. “It is believed to be unintentional.”

Crews arrived on scene to a small amount of smoke coming out of the shingles on the roof.

Acting Battalion Chief Kurt McMahan said there was very little fire damage.

Howse agreed and added that there was no structural damage and the restaurant was able to remain open for business.

More information will be released as it becomes available.
