Healthcare is a broad sector and is constantly growing. With modern technology, perpetual change and creative minds, healthcare has become one of the most important sectors of society. It is essential for building human capital and not to mention for treating the people of the world!

Other than resources, training, education and employees, what are the other factors that make healthcare effective? Not everything is materialistic and we should all be aware of the difference between functioning healthcare and deepened healthcare. When we look at deepened healthcare, it goes beyond the basic functions we all know.

Qualities like kindness and empathy are what truly make certain healthcare facilities or NGOs more effective. Imagine a family coming from a marginalized background, they might not have enough money to pay for quality healthcare. Thus, they receive the bare minimum and unknowingly worsen the problem at hand.

A lot of healthcare facilities and NGOs look down on people with less money in their pockets. Genesis Foundation is not one of them. All the children at Genesis Foundation, an NGO for child heart treatment, come from the lower class of society and are treated with utmost respect and care. Compassionate care reduces patient anxiety and creates a supportive work culture. Studies also show that high stress environments could potentially lead to triggering medical errors. Embedding kindness in healthcare is essential for the public health sector, to support people from all over the country. Medical needs are linked to emotional needs and each and every healthcare worker should be taught that. Treating a patient with care, patience and kindness can make patients feel more heard and feel that their needs are being addressed. It accelerates healing, decreases staff burnout and combats stress related illnesses. Including kindness and empathy can be as simple as holding a reassuring tone and actively listening to patients' needs. But this goes both ways, staff members can work best when they are treated with reciprocated tenderness. If we all work together and maintain these essential qualities, healthcare can improve and every citizen can receive the care they need!
