TwelveStone Health Partners added infusion therapy suites to its Murfreesboro headquarters beginning today, Wednesday June 6, and local physician Dr. Chris Beckman is the new medical director, the company announced.

Beckman, Medical Director for the TwelveStone Infusion Center, has served families in the area for more than 20 years, opening Beckman Family Medical in 2004. He also is on staff at Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital.

With his new responsibilities, Beckman will oversee clinical operations to ensure patients receive the highest quality of care, for which TwelveStone is known.

“Dr. Beckman is a fantastic addition to our team at Twelve Stone,” TwelveStone CEO Shane Reeves says. “As the services we offer to our patients and our community have grown, we have recognized the need for physician oversight to ensure clinical quality. We are thrilled to have him on our staff.”

Beckman will serve in his role as medical director while continuing his private practice.

“TwelveStone has offered home-based infusion therapy for several years now,” Reeves says. “And we will continue to do that. But our team recognized a real need here in our community for outpatient infusion services, and we are excited to provide this higher level of care here in Murfreesboro.”

One of the benefits of having outpatient infusion suites is the broader array of medications available, some of which cannot be offered at home due to clinical oversight requirements. Also, the first infusion therapy dose of any medication is required to be managed in an outpatient setting to be more closely monitored by medical professionals. TwelveStone’s addition enables these infusions to be administered closer to home.

“We are pleased to offer URAC-certified private suites to infusion patients here in Murfreesboro. Until now, patients had to go all the way into Nashville to have treatments,” says Reeves.

The new suites were designed with privacy and comfort in mind, while still providing all the benefits of a medically supervised, safe clinical environment. Entertainment such as TV and free wi-fi services are available. Infusion therapy appointments are available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday by appointment. A physician order is required.
