Radical Racial Reconciliation and Reconstruction: Truth is we must deconstruct truth

The truth is President Franklin Roosevelt was the first president to donate his papers to our government and pledge part of his estate to the construction of a library to house his public and private documents.

Since then all of our presidents have personal libraries, where people may go and view volumes of communications and records created and maintained during their administration. 

The truth is I wonder what will become of the personal library of the common everyday man? I wonder what soul we may live to hold in the palm of our hand. 

The truth is to reconstruct in love; we must first deconstruct in truth. 

The truth is 155 years ago the Emancipation Proclamation was the written word drafted by a conflicted Abraham Lincoln as a promise of freedom to all slaves. 

The truth is Abraham Lincoln was but a sinner. 

The truth is 55 years ago a compelled man named King stood on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial and delivered his I have a Dream speech to thousands of civil rights supporters. Abraham’s proclamation called for non-violence and King built his platform on the 16th president’s plea. Today, we celebrate his life as a national holiday. 

The truth is Martin Luther King Jr. was but a sinner. 

Our 44th president combatted President Barack Obama is a great writer with a great speech to his credit. He built his original platform in part, on three words and the God-sized dreams of writers Abraham and Martin. 

The truth is President Barack Obama is but a sinner. 

The truth is 55 years ago I was born in the state of Illinois as a negro on a now-closed military base in a now-closed military hospital. My father was a committed enlisted man, and my mother was an honored member of the Wives Club.

The truth is I was a black teenager.

The truth is I was also an African American single mom. 

The truth is I am the people of some God-size dreams.

The truth is I am one of the millions Abraham dreamed of free.

The truth is I am one of the millions Martin dreamed of equal.

I am the people of some God-size dreams. 

The truth is the written law of the land now makes me equal, but His love set me free. And, I’m not speaking of Lincoln; I’m not speaking of Martin. And, I’m not speaking of Obama. His love set me free to serve Him. His love set me free to mother. And, His love saved me to die free to live again. 

The truth is His love knows no country.

The truth is His love knows no boundaries.

The truth is His love knows no party. 

The truth is the reality of my life speaks to my roots. After some college, I choose to remain in this, my favorite state of Tennessee. The truth is Tennessee is not the state of my birth, but the root of my love. The truth is the same dirt that swaddled the roots of Alex Haley is the same dirt that swaddled, John Piper and Tina Turner. The truth is, it’s the same dirt that birthed my forefathers. The truth is it’s the same dirt that birthed my Mother. The truth is the roots, and the dirt are born conflicted, committed, combatted, contorted and free to grow to blossom and to fail. 

The truth is I too am but a sinner saved by the grace of Jesus Christ.

The truth is more than one hundred and fifty-five years ago Abraham was a conflicted man with a God-size dream. 

The truth is more than fifty-five years ago Martin was a compelled man with a God-size dream. 

The truth is a few years ago Barack Obama was our combatted President, free because of a God-size dream. The truth is only, just a few years ago Barack Obama was our combatted President, equal because of a God-size dream. 

The truth is sinners and saints of God-size dreams are conflicted, compelled, combatted and contorted. 

The truth is God-size dreams require one to stand and choose to continue to believe in the dream while conflicted.

The truth is God-size dreams require one to stand and choose to continue to believe in the dream while compelled.

The truth is God-size dreams require one to stand and choose to continue to believe in the dream while contorted.

The truth is God-size dreams require one to stand and choose to continue to believe in the dream while combatted.

The truth is the giver of the gift of the dream is He.

He who is forever faithful. 

Therefore know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments; Deuteronomy 7:9 

He who is forever present. 

And teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. Matthew 28:20 

He who is forever able.

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us. Ephesians 3:20 

The truth is you too are a people of some God-size dreams? 

The truth is reconciliation is the work we do with one another as commanded in the scriptures while reconstruction and restoration is the work of the Holy Spirit. 

The truth is President Barack Obama is the last and only President living without the legacy of a library.

The truth is to reconstruct in love; we must first deconstruct in truth.
