A 67-year-old man was taken into police custody April 16 after he broke items on one man's deck and kicked in the door of another home, according to a Murfreesboro Police Department incident report.

MPD was called to a residence on Lakeshore Drive after a homeowner heard a racket on his back deck.

When he went to investigate he found the man laying on his back on the deck.

The man then got up and walked around to the front of the house, banged on the front door and jiggled the handle.

The homeowner told police he heard another crash and then his neighbor came over to say a strange man had kicked in her door.

She told police she was sitting in her living room when the stranger kicked her door in, came into her house and asked "is this an apartment?"

It is not.

She felt threatened so she fled next door when police were called to handle the situation.

They took the man into custody and charged him with aggravated burglary, vandalism, assault and public intoxication.

Afterward, the first homeowner reported a set of antique dishes (why they were on his deck is an unanswered question) was damaged in the incident.

Too much for Walmart

A homeless couple was banned from all Walmarts after an argument with store management turned into a domestic dispute.

On Tuesday afternoon, April 16, the couple were arguing inside the Walmart on Memorial Boulevard. They were said to be "getting in the manager's faces regarding a refund and trying to fight them," according to a domestic violence report filed with the Murfreesboro Police Department.

When officers arrived, the pair was still arguing with store management.

"While explaing the issues she and (her boyfriend) had with management, (the woman) was verbally aggressive to other people in the area, yelled profanities at myself, other officers on the scene, as well as bystanders, and was causing a disturbance," an MPD officer reported.

She even picked up a smoker's outpost and threw it against the side of the building, the report said.

Officers were told by management that the woman also pushed her boyfriend into a display stand while the pair were arguing with each other and management. The witnesses were corroborated by survellenice video.

The woman was arrested and charged with domestic assault and disturbing the peace.
