How many Murfreesboro neighborhoods consider renters unwelcome? Is this a trend?

If you live in a subdivision and start noticing more than 5 cars parking in the drive, it’s time to sale and move or rent your home yourself.
Tim Powers as hit the nail on the head ! The real issue is THE RENTERS (plural) themselves ! That's what's happening in my neighborhood as well. Three or four "friends" end up renting the house together. Each has their own car. Multiply that by all the similar rental arrangements here and it's like a parking lot on the streets. Furthermore, renters really don't bother to take any pride in the property. Loud parties most weekends that last week into the wee hours of the morning. And what's often a never ending stream of traffic into and out of the rental house. There's one 2000 square foot, 3 bedroom rental house in our neighborhood that I swear has THREE COUPLES living together in it !
Get a clue y'all are so uppity lol survive never
Slot of people take pride in their " home" only God should judge Lord get a damn clue
It's very wrong to be so judgemental. Some ppl try to live together to save money or escaping an unhealthy situation. As a renter myself, I take very very very good care of any property that I reside in. I landscape, paint, decorate, keep the yard cut, dont have house parties and dont allow parking in my grass or any of that. Bad divorce so I'm rebuilding. Just because a person rents doesn't make them scum or beneath ANYONE. The nerve of some of you.
Hi, I'm on the board of this excellent community. The author is, and I hate to say this about someone in my community, extremely dishonest in this article. The fact is that the board has been receiving large numbers of complaints about the kinds of renters that we all hate to live by. We have many wonderful renters in our community, so these complaints/criticisms exclude those folks in entirety. We held a public meeting in the fall of 2019 to try to come up with solutions. Chloe, the author of this article, was unfortunately absent otherwise I'm sure an infinitely better solution would have come about. However, the homeowners that did show up we're given opportunity to discuss this and some amendments we could make that would make our community less desirable for Big Corp Rentals. The outcome was voted for by majority present, so we've moved forward. I truly hope the author is present in future public meetings (and gains some integrity between now and then).
It’s great to hear that there are still responsible renters out there who keep the home neat, safe, and quiet. I’ve been a renter twice in my life and tried to leave it in better shape than I got it. But you/we are exception, not rule. Don’t get me started on section 8 - my 84 year old dad has had scores of such renters around his home. Thank the Lord at this time he is surrounded by decent renters.
Maybe the important thing would be to focus on keeping out the "corporate" companies that are buying up houses all over town and let the people who own their homes decide if they want to rent privately?. I've seen some crazy statistics out there for how many homes are now owned by corporations just interested in renting them out to whoever can pay the high rent. With any rental home (or apartment community), you'll always get good and bad. It doesn't matter the location or cost. However, you cannot intend to place a ban on rentals and then say that the complains/criticisms exclude the good people. If you're banning rentals, they would include the good people...you cannot cherry-pick the ban or I'm going to guess you're going to be walking into a lot of legal issues.
