Murfreesboro Streets Department employee Brook Nance is the August Stars Winner, nominated by Kane Adams, for demonstrating exemplary service and representing the city in a positive light, the City of Murfreesboro announced.
On the morning of Aug. 3, Nance (below) was working along West Main Street when he was approached by a frantic citizen.
The woman asked Nance for his assistance, stating someone was after her and she was fearful for her life. Nance asked the resident if she knew how to get the police department.
Because she was nervous and confused, Nance offered to call dispatch or to escort her to police headquarters. The citizen chose to go to the police department, so Nance lead the way in his vehicle, while she followed behind.
Nance walked her into the building and made sure she received the attention that she needed.
On this day, Nance went above and beyond the call of duty by making sure this citizen was safe and receiving the assistance she needed.
