Filming of Online Murder Mystery Party

Every year, hundreds gather in their best Roaring 1920s attire for the annual Gatsby Party of Rutherford County. But like many events this year, the Gatsby was canceled.

The Gatsby was set for Saturday, March 21 at the Stones River Country Club and would have benefited Amelia's Closet and Alzheimer's Association of Tennessee. With the cancellation, these nonprofits missed out on much-needed operational funds.

So organizer Missy Lay decided to relocate the party online and add a murder mystery.

The Online Murder Mystery Party will be held from 7-9 p.m. Saturday, June 13 on Facebook. Tickets are $25 and will benefit Amelia's Closet and Alzheimer's Association of Tennessee.

Get your ticket from Wild Goose Chase Events.

How does it work?

All ticket holders will be invited to a closed group on Facebook where we will show our opening scene, share clues and allow you to interview characters live on Facebook. You need ONE ticket per screen. The ticket purchase allows us to invite one Facebook profile into our private group.

For example, If your whole family wants to gather around the computer screen to watch the event unfold, please buy one ticket. If you want to play with friends or family in separate spaces, (you at home, your friend across town or Uncle Bob in Georgia) you will need to buy multiple tickets. Any questions, please email us before purchase.

Once you are invited to the private group, you get to watch our murder unfold, from the comfort of your home. You will watch a video of what happened and see all the clues Detective Cooper found. You can interview our characters by typing your questions into the comment section of the live video and the detective will make sure to ask them.

What's the premise?

On the evening of June 13, 1921, George and Tempe Darrow were set to throw yet other grand party when the festivities were interrupted by a murder. The Darrows were known around town for being the toast of Murfreesboro's social scene.

This party was going to be the party of the season, complete with homemade hooch made by Tony "Too Tall" Jones and a possible appearance by Al Capone. The party had been planned for months and as the last of the guests arrived. But before dinner could be served, they found the body of "Too Tall" crumpled in a heap beside the baby grand.

Who could have done such a thing?
