In 2020, its third year, Focus on the Boro will be on display in the City Hall Rotunda from March 31 - May 27. The purpose for this photography event, as stated on event webpage, is to inspire the community to get out and take pictures, experience a fun and friendly competition, and have the opportunity to exhibit and enjoy photography.

The photography event's creator, Jessica Nelson, hopes the earlier date will, "encourage more students to participate and also interfer less with participants summer plans."

The competition is open to photographers of all ages, styles, and experience levels who live or work in Rutherford County. Each photographer may submit up to 3 images total. Image categories include people, landscape, still life, animals, flora, architecture, sports/action, abstract/special effects, and Murfreesboro, and there will be separate awards for youth (17 and younger) and adults.

First round entries can be uploaded through culturalartsmurfreesboro.submittable.com from February 1 through February 29. Finalists will be notified by March 2 and then will need to print and mount their images to be delivered to the Rotunda at City Hall on March 30. The artwork will be on display from March 31 - May 27, 2020, for the community to view.

Results of the final judging will be announced at a community reception being held from 6-9 p.m. Friday, April 10 in the Rotunda at City Hall. All are welcome and invited to attend this free event.
