Mindful Care needs more space for a growing program

Mindful Care Adult Day Services is looking for a new home. The 12-year-old non-profit association has operated in donated space at New Vision Baptist Church in Murfreesboro.

"The church has been wonderful to us," commented Tom Tozer, board president. "The only reason we're exploring a new location is because we're growing and need more room to meet the future demands.

"Do you know of a church or another facility that would be willing to donate unused space?" Tozer asked. Mindful Care needs about 3,000 square feet on one level, he added.

Mindful Care is the only non-profit adult day services program in Rutherford County for people age 55 and up with early-onset Alzheimer's and other memory issues.

Adult day services will become essential in the future with the coming tsunami of Alzheimer's—and will be far less costly than a nursing home, assisted living, or in-home professional care, Tozer explained.

"If someone knows of a space just sitting empty—a space that could serve a noble and urgent cause for our community," Tozer said, "please contact me at 615-653-6209 or ttozer@comcast.net. Let's talk."
