Exchange Club of Murfreesboro makes $25K donation to The Family Center Tennessee

The Exchange Club of Murfreesboro recently presented a $25,000 donation to The Family Center Tennessee, according to a press release.

The donation was the total amount the Club has presented to Susan Galeas, Executive Director, The Family Center for 2018-2019.

The Family Center Tennessee has as a mission: breaking multi-generational cycles of child abuse, neglect, & trauma. Their vision is: A resilient community where all children thrive.

Child abuse, neglect, and trauma are recognized as Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and are a serious public health concern that causes lifetime physical, psychological, and behavioral problems for children and impacts communities for generations.

As change agents, The Family Center Tennessee is dedicated to providing a safe space where parents and children can connect and grow through a two-generational approach to learning. The Family Center Tennessee evidence-based programs provide guidance and support as families navigate new strategies for coping with trauma and move forward with confidence and purpose.

The Exchange Club of Murfreesboro was chartered in 1951. Alumni include numerous leaders through the history of the City of Murfreesboro and is home to two National Exchange Club Presidents, John Hood in 1980-1981; and Don Wright 2013-2014. The Club sponsored The Noon Exchange Club of Murfreesboro, chartered in 1979.

The Exchange Club of Murfreesboro raised funds thru their annual "Celebrity Waiters Dinner and Auction" of which this past year included celebrities such as Bill Anderson; Randy Travis; Bobby Marquez; Jennifer Herron; Rex Allen Jr.; Ronnie Stoneman; Rhonda Tenpenny; Linda Davis; and Jan Howard just to name a few. The ticketed event is scheduled for the first Thursday in April 2020.
