Murfreesboro Fire Marshal asks for public's help with possible arson

Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department's Fire Marshal is asking for the public's assistance with an early morning vehicle fire at University Commons located at 1245 Old Lascassas Road.

Crews were dispatched to the location just before 2:30 Monday morning. They arrived to find a Chevy Traverse fully engulfed in flames.

Firefighters extinguished the vehicle, but another vehicle parked beside it received heat damage from the blaze. The building also received cosmetic damage to the exterior.

The Fire Marshal's Office was called to investigate. The fire is believed to be intentionally set, and the Fire Marshal is asking for the public's assistance to solve this case.

Callers will remain anonymous and cash rewards of up to $1,000 are offered for information leading to the arrest of persons of interest.
