Blackman Elementary fifth-grader Erica Searcy won the national Junior American Citizenship Award.
Searcy finished first in the nation.
Members of the Daughters of the American Revolution presented Searcy with her award on the last day of the 2018–19 school year.
Searcy is a member of the Intellectual Sparks program at Blackman.
