Eagleville student selected to compete at FFA national convention

Eagleville FFA member, Lane Hulshof, was recently selected to compete for national recognition in a career development event at the 91st National FFA Convention & Expo in Indianapolis, Oct. 24-27.
 
The Eagleville FFA Chapter, in Eagleville, Tennessee, will send Lane to Indianapolis as he vies for national honors in the area of the Dairy Handlers Activity CDE, sponsored by Allflex USA, Inc. Lane Hulshof, a Junior at Eagleville School, was recognized as the Tennessee State Winner in this area at the Tennessee State Fair, held earlier this month in Nashville. Lane’s FFA Advisors are Emily Marshall and Bruce Haley.
 
The dairy handlers activity is a part of the Dairy Cattle Evaluation and Management CDE.  Individuals handle the cattle used for selection in the dairy cattle evaluation and management CDE. Handlers demonstrate their showmanship abili*es and are awarded medals during the awards banquet held annually. CDEs and LDEs help students develop the abilities to think critically communicate clearly and perform effectively in a competitive job market.
 
The National FFA Organization provides leadership, personal growth and career success training through agricultural education to 653,359 student members who belong to one of 8,568 local FFA chapters throughout the U.S., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
 
The organization is also supported by 344,239 alumni members in 2,051 alumni chapters throughout the U.S.
