Mark Lamb will tell you a story. It might be about a skillet. It might be about his love for Dolly Parton. It might be about his daddy's passion for basketball.

Whatever the topic, it's sure to be told in a way that evokes his Southern roots in Sturgis, Kentucky, and his years of experience in helping others discover their hearts for artistic expression.

Lamb’s stories have been featured on National Public Radio, WGBH public television, and numerous other venues. His story "A Boy and His Dolly" was sanctioned by Dolly Parton to benefit her literacy program, the Imagination Library. Mark is also a Grand Slam champion at the Peabody Award-winning Moth storytelling series.

In June the NYC-based choreographer and performer is in Murfreesboro as the headliner and storytelling coach for United We Style, a unique event combining storytelling, live music, and hair styling to benefit the United Way. He's already given a featured performance at Poetry in the Boro, and while he’s here, Lamb is also offering two workshops:

Lamb headlines the United We Style show “Come Together Now” on Thursday, June 21, at Main Street Music. Learn more
