Students can demonstrate their archery skills and raise funds for a school resource officer’s wife who is battling breast cancer Saturday at Rock Springs Elementary School.

Funds collected will be donated to the wife of SRO Markell Draine, who is undergoing breast cancer treatment, said SRO Patrick Doughtie. Draine is the SRO at La Vergne Middle School.

The event runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the school located at 1000 Waldron Road.

“We'll have various 3D targets, zombie targets and standard targets, (some with balloons) to shoot,” Doughtie said. “Cost is $1 for 3 arrows, no limit.”

SROs are asking local school archery teams to participate.

“This archery fundraiser is open to the public and all adults that want to show up and can pull a string,” Doughtie said.

Baked goods will also be on sale.
